HP launches its first Linux notebook

HP has just released its first ever Linux notebook, the HP-Compaq nx5000, which will come pre-installed with Novell’s SuSE Linux and the OpenOffice software suite.It features a Pentium-M processor, a rewriteable CD drive, DVD player, plus wireless and Bluetooth mobile connectivity.
HP says the nx5000 will be initially available upon request in Thailand, Philippines and India in the Asia-Pacific, selling from US$1,140 onwards. Depending on response in these markets, the notebook may be offered in the other Asia-Pacific countries later on.
