Peak Memory Usage For Android   PDF  Print  E-mail
Contributed by Chad Brandt
Friday, 01 January 2010
I have developed and put on the market a new application for android that will allow you to see your currently running applications, the current memory used, peak memory used, PID, and the priority

This application has helped me track down a few apps that seem to spawn extra processes, one being Twidroid. In PeakMemUsage I noticed two separate pids for twidroid, each peaking around 15 MB. I killed twidroid and restarted which fixed the mystery process. I find this tool very useful for seeing which running processes are taking all the memory and which are a better choice to kill based on priority.

If you have an Android phone I really think this will be a useful app. I did not see any other app that did this so I created my own. You can find it free on the market or scan this barcode with barcode scanner to go directly to the app.
